Role playing helps us practice safe road crossing. Imagine we have the powers of a superhero – stand at the edge of an imaginary road, use X-ray vision to spot cars and hear every sound. Now, let’s practice the superhero habit – “Stop, look and listen”.
Stop: Imagine you are on the sidewalk, and it’s time to cross the street. Stop in a safe spot.
Look: Use your superhero vision to look left and right for any oncoming vehicles. Make sure the road is clear and safe to cross.
Listen: Tune in with your superhero ears. Do you hear any sounds of approaching vehicles? If it is quiet, it is a signal to proceed.
